The New Jeep Wrangler JL

For over 75 years, the Jeep Wrangler has remained a classic model in the Jeep lineup, the cornerstone that represents the quintessential Jeep spirit and love of adventure, all wrapped up in a rugged, instantly recognizable package that's loved all over the world. Jeep has enhanced the beloved profile of the classic Wrangler with the new Jeep Wrangler JL, a new spin on the style drivers and critics alike have come to love. While it's a bit of a departure from the original, it still embodies the iconic Wrangler style with a modern twist.

The Wrangler JL is Improved and Enhanced from the Inside Out

While they've kept the classic Jeep profile mostly unchanged, Jeep engineers have worked to make small adjustments to improve the Wrangler's aerodynamics. The windshield still folds flat but the process has been updated, and the classic removable doors remain with a new tool to loosen the fasteners included. The steel frame is new, and the Dana front and rear solid axles now hang from front and rear coil-spring suspensions. The JL's new fenders, doors, hinges, and windshield frame are all made of aluminum which helps reduce weight and further improve aerodynamics, while the tailgate is enlarged for easier access. Even further contributing to the weight-saving design are aluminum engine mounts and steering gear, a lighter brake master cylinder, and hollow anti-roll and track bars.

Wrangler JL Exclusive Features

The Wrangler JL will be available as a two-door or four-door model; two-door trims include the Sport, Sport S, and Rubicon, while the four-door adds a Sahara trim between the Sport S and Rubicon.  Standard features on all trims include a backup camera, push-button start, halogen headlamps, skid plates over the transfer case and fuel tank, cruise control, five USB ports, and so much more. You can opt for an available towing package, and the maximum towing capacity is 2000 pounds for the two-door model and 3500 for the four-door model. The Wrangler JL models will also include an improved Sunrider soft top that can be lowered or raised more quickly and easily than its predecessors. There's even an available automated Sky One-Touch power-top that works like a traditional convertible soft top so that you can open up the roof with the touch of a button.
