Here at our dealership, we want you to get the most out of your Wrangler. Which is why we’ve put together eight easy steps to remove the hardtop of your Jeep Wrangler.
Tools Required:
- Power Drill or Ratchet
- Driver Socket
- T40 Torx Bit
- A 2nd Jeep Lover
Eight Steps to Remove Your Jeep Wrangler’s Hardtop
- You’ll want to start by removing the front panels. There are six latches that hold the two front panels one. Three in the front and three in the pack. Unlatch all six.
- Once unlatched, lift the driver panel to remove it. Do the same for the passenger side.
- Next up, is removing the rear section of the hardtop. On the top, there are two T40 Torx bolts that you’ll need to remove.
- Then there are three T40 Torx bolts on each side of the hardtop, under the windows. Remove each bolt.
- Now, you’re ready to disconnect the electrical connection. Simply push and pull it off.
- Because the rear section is heavy, this is where your friend comes in.
- With help from your friend, lift the rear section from the center and pull back.
- Job well done! You’re Jeep Wrangler is now ready for a sunny summer day.
