The models available in our new Chrysler showroom are surely the most modern and luxurious that they've ever been, but there is a long history that led them to where they are now. This is because Chrysler continues to push the envelope, and has had plenty of "firsts" along the way. Today, we'd like to highlight some of those for you.
All the way back in 1934, Chrysler built the first vehicle equipped with automatic overdrive, making rides more efficient, less noisy, and lowering wear on them. Just like it is today, anytime you can increase fuel economy people will be happy.
Mid-century (specifically1950 and 1951) a technology that nearly all modern vehicle have came along; power windows and power steering. And, just a few years later in 1958, Chrysler released its first model with cruise control. Shortly thereafter, they successfully mated four-wheel drive and automatic transmissions together, giving all of us more power and control.
The automaker has also made great strides when it comes to safety. It was the first automaker to make airbags a standard feature in 1988, and introduced the integrated child seat in 1992.
You'll see feature like these today in popular models like the Chrysler 300, along with loads of modern tech features like Uconnect, which gives you access to all kinds of information, music, entertainment, and even Wi-Fi.
To see all this engineering history in action, stop in to Providence Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and take a closer look at the models in our showroom. We're located at 804 Lancaster Pike in Quarryville and are happy to answer any questions you might have, and arrange test drives.
