We've talked a lot about the Jeep brand on the Providence Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM blog lately, and with good reason. After all, it isn't every day that an all new model hits the road. That being said, we've got a tried-and-tested pickup known as the Ram 1500 sitting in our Quarryville, PA and we thought it was about time to give this ride its due praise.
So did the editors at Motor Trend as they've declared the 1500 their 2014 Truck of the Year. That being said, it isn't like they've been shy about pumping this model's tires. As a matter of fact, the pickup got the nod last year, too. That means that for the first time ever, a vehicle has won back-to-back Truck of the Year awards from the automotive publication.
Edward Loh, Editor-in-Chief of Motor Trend, explains the how things played out: "For 2014 we had a large and highly competitive field of contenders for Motor Trend's Truck of the Year," said Loh. "At the end of the day, though, the Ram 1500 quickly rose to the top. Not only did it withstand our rigorous testing, it thoroughly impressed our judges with its vast array of standard and optional equipment..."1
The standard equipment will get you a best in class fuel economy rating. As far as the optional equipment is concerned, we've got a big one on the way. The 1500 EcoDiesel should hit our showroom early next year and along with a big time heritage, it's also touting 420 lb-ft of torque and what we expect to be an even better fuel economy rating than the standard model.
To check out the gas iteration of this award winning pickup for yourself, stop into our Ram dealer today. And if you're holding out for diesel, you're wait will soon be over.
