Every season is a great season to own a truck but the Summer and Fall are some of the best parts of the year. Whether you're blazing off-road trails in the summer mud, towing your boat, and tailgating at the big game, new RAM trucks can handle whatever your throw at them.

There is a catch though, because increasing your activity load means there are more chances for the paint on your precious truck to get dinged up or scratched. Mud, water, and sand all affect your vehicle's paint job, and since we're fairly certain you'd like to keep it looking like new, here are a some tips to keep it looking fresh from the showroom:

Taking Care of Your RAM Truck's Paint:

  • Wash it Regularly: Debris on the surface of your truck can cause small scratches in your clear coat over time.  The goal is to remove this debris, safely, as it can lead to rust and a lackluster paint finish. So, be sure to wash your truck often. If you decide to do it manually, just remember you don't need to use a pressure washer or jet stream to clean the truck, a nice soft stream is all you need and make sure you do it in a shaded area, as sunshine can cause uneven drying and  water spots.
  • Drying and Waxing Tips: Always dry with a clean cotton towel, microfiber towel, or special chamois.   Then make sure to put on a layer of synthetic or carnuba wax which helps the paint not only protects the paint but also allows it to shine better and also allows water to bead right off.
  • Keep it Out of Direct Sunlight: When possible keep it in the shade, the suns UV rays over time can cause dulling, cracking, and fading!
